I took my 2008 tundra in March 2021 to have rear springs re built and had leaf added. Was happy with turn around customer care and paid $550 for re arch and add a leaf. A week after driving truck was concerned because leaf spring started squeaking like an old box spring. I took back to mcglohon spring shop and showed them that it was squeaking bad…. They told me they could not do anything for it, that that’s how it was going to be… this is not true..I then took it to a friends shop and said that the new added spring was rubbing metal to metal on the existing spring because the didn’t install any plastic spacers between new spring and old doing… he was able to install some lithium grease with a needle between the new and old spring which indeed did eliminate all noise of squeaks for about a week. This simple fact proved to me that the new spring is installed wrong… i did call them at this point and discussed my finding and they told me that if I bought the bushings they would install them ( I thought this would be at no charge) I have since been trying to schedule a time for me to bring in my truck for it to be repaired and they have told me at least 5 times that they are too busy to fix my truck. I called today for the last time July 22, 2021 and asked them if they would be able to get me in before I leave out of town Aug 2 to haul my camper out west, once again his response was I can’t answer that. I asked what should I do then, he said call back at a later date and see if they are busy. I also asked if he planned on covering this under warranty of improper install and his response was no, they didn’t install it wrong this is how they do it to all trucks….. so what you need to know when taking your truck here.. If you have a normal 1/2ton truck that doesn’t have squeaking leaf springs and you have them repaired here you will have the loudest squeaking springs I’ve heard on any truck. Don’t expect this place to own any part of their work and try to help you solve the issue. Prepare to light your money on fire because you will be so unhappy with the squeak that you will have to pay someone else again to fix the problem. Super unhappy with this place and can’t see how they can still be in business if this is how they treat their customers… I would have paid they to fix it…now I’m going to have to someone else fix their mistake.. I’ll let you know where I take it to have it fixed correctly. Hope this helps you from losing $550 like I have.
